Leanness of Soul - A Christian Danger
God rolled back the Red Sea and allowed the Children of Israel to cross on dry ground. Then watch the Red Sea close and drown their Egyptian enemies. This was a marvelous victory, an awesome picture of God’s deliverance.
Psalm 106:11-15 gives us a rolling picture that is a solemn warning for every Christian. Verse 12 - they believed God and sang His praises. Verse 13 - they soon forgot His works... they waited not for His counsel. Verse 14 - they lusted exceedingly. Verse 15 - God gave them their requests but sent leanness into their soul.
We are moved when we see a friend that has grown pitifully lean in the flesh, but a more pitiful picture is one who has grown lean in their soul. A special warning is highlighted in Revelation 3:16 about the danger of lukewarmness or leanness of the soul. God deserves our very best. Anything less than our best makes us a loser and diminishes our chance of God’s best.

Sonshine Club
Our first special senior luncheon fellowship of the fall season took place September 16th. Our special guest was Mrs. Lisa Bryant, news anchor for WBOC TV and Fox 21. She was a blessing and it was a real privilege for our people to fellowship with her. We had 74 people present. Our next program will be Tuesday, October 21st at 11:30 AM. This is a great time for seniors to get out, meet others, and have fun in a beautiful Christian atmosphere. We invite you to join us in October.

The Wayne Cash Family singers will be our guests in concert, Sunday, November 2nd at the 10:45 AM. worship service. Please pray, invite others and plan to join with for this special gospel singing program.
FCC Church Family Directory
Mrs. Janet Huhn and Miss Pat Guidera, professional photographers who have their own studio and the most modern equipment, are putting together a special church family directory which they say each family will be proud to place on their coffee table. A free copy of this directory and a free 8X10 picture will be given to each family who participates. Additional pictures may be purchased if you desire. They can also create Christmas cards and other items using your pictures. It is very interesting to visit their studio on Schumaker Pond and see their various nature background settings. When I receive my final call,
That great summons from on high,
The alarm that comes to one and all
From the Lord of Earth and sky.
Would you respond as I have done
To neighbors along the way
Comfort my wife, daughter or son?
Please find some kind words to say.
Give my boots, coat, helmet and gloves
To a fine young man with pride,
Help him stand tall with those he loves
And my spirit by his side.
Maybe I’m just reminiscing
As I try to look ahead
Where fire alarms will never ring
This is true so Jesus said.
May God sustain and strengthen all
My family and friends so dear,
When I respond to my last call
Any my Lord says come up here.
